I was hoping my first post on the new blog would be a good one.
As usual I was greeted with a big smile and a hug. On the way to breakfast we talk about what we did during the past week. On the way he mentioned that he wanted a big Percy (thomas and friends). So after we stopped for a quick bite to eat, (more on that in a later post) we were off to K-Mart. When we got there we went to the toys. Teaching him to make his own decisions, we saw big Percy, he grabed Big Percy but then saw Dr Z, he wanted both, then he saw Dinosaur train and wanted them, so I laid out all the toys and he looked them over, then he saw Diesel,Percy and Salty and wanted them. Good choice I said you got 3 instead of the one!
So off to visit some friends and playground. When I would introduce him to someone, he would always say “this is my daddy”. That makes me feel all warm inside. While at the playground, we play and I let him interact with the other kids. A couple of times a child would come up and talk to me and he would see that. He would come over, grab me and sayto the child “this is my daddy” and then lead me away saying “come on daddy” That make me feel all good too! So as we were talking, I asked him “who’s son are you?” He thought about it Then I asked him again, I started to say my first name and he took it the rest of the way. I asked him again And he said “Freddie Thomas” and smiled! Boy I was Really Happy Name Recognition is what it’s about!
